What we do

We are a fish factory on the sea. Yes, you will live and work entire time on a huge boat, “Lucky Buck”. The “Lucky Buck” is a 180 foot floating processing plant that operates on Alaskan waters. Fishing takes place within a few miles of the Lucky Buck, and the salmon are chilled then processed within a few hours. Our primary product is currently frozen chum and pink salmon.

The season

You need to board the boat in Seattle on June12/13. The contract will last approximately until August 27th also in Seattle.

The jobs

Once employed as a processor you will be called upon to do many different jobs in the Factory. You might be called upon to clean/gut fish, grade fish for size and quality, load up fish pans, break-up pans of frozen salmon, etc. Just be prepared to do any and all job functions throughout the factory.

Ideal candidate

The goal is to produce high quality Alaska and North Pacific seafood products that exceed the customers' expectations. To do this, we need the dedication and commitment of hardworking, responsible people who want to work in a team environment.

Dedicated: When the fish are here, we need people working (this can mean 16-hour days, 7 days a week. Salmon doesn’t know the term "day-off" ).

Responsible: Following instructions and adhering to safety rules is imperative for everyone's well-being.

Healthy & Strong: The work is physical and demanding in a wet, cold and noisy environment.

Safe and Sober: We have a zero tolerance policy when it comes to drugs and alcohol, weapons of any kind, and fighting, harassing, or "horseplay".

What we offer

- wage $10.00/h REGULAR + $15.00/OVERTIME

- a lot of overtime. In the peak season you will be working over 100 hours/week Between production times or during slow periods, there may be days with no work at all. There are no guaranteed hours.
The remote location helps to keep all your hard-earned cash in the bank!

- room and board
Room, board & laundry are provided at a cost $15/day. However, if you complete the contract successfully you will be reimbursed 100%.
There are complete 2 entree meals served every 6 hours. Also, fresh baked goods and packaged snacks are provided 24 hours a day in the Galley.

- up to $200.00 transportation (to Seattle) reimbursement. (Once contract is completed successfully)

- entertainment on board:
The Lucky Buck has a recreational room with couches, satellite TV and movies, foosball, ping pong, pool table and limited weights. Ability to send/receive emails and limited internet available.

- employee gear
All required gear, including raingear, boots, gloves, hair nets and ear protection are provided.
